This is a rinka-shaped plate handcrafted by Ryosuke Matsuo, a ceramic artist based in Kyoto.
The piece radiates a gentle warmth that is immediately felt at first glance.
Its ability to blend seamlessly into daily life reflects the care and thought Matsuo has cultivated through conversations with his customers—an effort clearly embodied in his work.
The plate features a delicate layering technique: a creamy white glaze combined with brush-applied glaze accents.
Metallic pigments, which develop into deep browns and blues during firing, are carefully layered by hand to create flowing gradients that follow the carved lines of the surface.
The name “Melt” refers to the movement of liquid, and also to the idea of something gently blending or dissolving.
Matsuo hopes that, over time, the plate will “melt” into the user’s everyday life—gradually soaking into their hands and space with warmth and quiet presence.

※ Leaving the piece damp may lead to mold or unpleasant odors.
※ Fine cracks may develop in the glaze over time—this is known as kannyu (crazing), a natural part of the aging process of ceramics that enhances their character.
※ Each piece is handmade, so slight variations in color and size may occur. Please enjoy these as part of its unique charm.
