Azusa Yoshimoto

9 products

Yoshimoto's pottery is based on the "overglaze painting" technique that has been passed down in Kyoto ware and Satsuma ware.
Overglaze painting is a technique in which a pattern is painted on top of a piece of pottery after it has been fired using special paints, and then the piece is fired again at a high temperature of over 800°C.
The firing process creates a glass-like transparency, and the deep, muted colors enrich the appearance of the vessel.

Nanban rabbit, Art Deco gentleman dog, lady cat...
The adorable animals, lightly dressed in historical fashion, are depicted with Yoshimoto's unique sensibility.
A small story full of humor and originality unfolds inside each piece of pottery.

In addition, the exquisite balance between the traditional patterns and the white porcelain's white space further enhances the colorful overglaze painting.
Please enjoy the worldview and story contained in the vessels.
