How to use tea utensils
The customer who came yesterday.
Kimitoshi Yamashita's tea utensils, small matcha tea bowl, from the side and above
Each piece was carefully examined from various angles.
When I asked, "What would you like to use it for?"
"Can be used as a cafe au lait or soup bowl, a hotpot plate, or a rice bowl."
When you talk to customers,
Please tell me about the various uses of the vessels.
I'm learning a lot.
And the shopkeeper took that wisdom and passed it on as if it were his own.
I was going to introduce it to the next customer.
The customer who visited us yesterday took their time to carefully admire each of Yamashita Kimitoshi's small matcha bowls from various angles—sideways, from above, and more.
When I asked, "How do you plan to use them?" they replied, "As a bowl for café au lait, soup, a dish for hot pot servings, or even a rice bowl."
Talking with customers like this teaches me so much about the diverse ways these pieces can be used.
And then, the shop owner cheekily takes that newly gained knowledge and share it with the next customer.
