Works by the husband and wife duo Mitsuru Sakurai and Fumie Oyama are now available for purchase.

I had the opportunity to visit the two of them in their studio in Sano, Tochigi Prefecture.
May of this year.
There are some couples who work on the same piece,
Mitsuru Sakurai and Fumie Oyama are
Each has its own workshop,
He is creating a work of art.

Sakurai mainly uses straw ash glaze, which allows him to communicate with nature and bring out its beauty.
By firing red clay that is rich in iron, the melted parts produce a beautiful blue color.
It's a very tasteful piece of work.

The appeal of Oyama's blue and white porcelain works lies in the combination of fine, delicate lines.
He creates his own unique worldview using Ko-Imari as a motif.
I was impressed by the mind-bogglingly detailed work that went into it.

He picked some ferns to give to us as souvenirs.

This work exudes the warm personalities of the two creators.
